ON A SCALE OF ONE TO 10 ... : In “Kinsey,” Liam Neeson stars as zoologist Alfred Kinsey, who challenged conventional thinking when he released his research on human sexuality. Peter Sarsgaard co-starred as his bisexual assistant, Clyde Martin, and Laura Linney played Kinsey’s wife, Clara. Lynn Redgrave gives a brief but powerful performance as a lesbian whose life was changed by Kinsey’s research. 7 p.m. Saturday on Independent Film Channel.

The Tailor of Panama
A cloak-and-dagger film starring Pierce Brosnan who enlists Geoffrey Rush in a web of intrigue in Panama. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Rush’s wife. At one point Brosnan and Rush visit a local gay bar. 8 p.m. on My Network TV.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Drag queens Mitzi (Hugo Weaving) and Felicia (Guy Pearce) and transsexual Bernadette (Terence Stamp) travel across Australia to perform in the lounge of the hotel run by Mitzi’s ex-wife. 8:30 p.m. on Logo.

Greek
In the midst of the floor hockey tourney, Evan questions Casey’s loyalty because both her brother and ex-boyfriend are members of Kappa Tau. My Best Friend’s Wedding

CHERRY BOMB: Well, it had to happen. Out series creator and executive producer Marc Cherry announced this week that come fall, Andrew Van de Camp will not be the only gay resident on Wisteria Lane. In September, a gay male couple will be moving into the house formerly occupied by the Applewhites (and “The Munsters”), and one of the men will engage in a vicious feud with Susan (Teri Hatcher). Sounds like just another day in suburbia. “Desperate Housewives” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on ABC.

New York Dolls
The anarchic history of punk rock has been chronicled in countless documentaries, yet few are as astounding and touching as Greg Whiteley’s profile of Arthur “Killer” Kane, former bassist for the proto-punk/glam band The New York Dolls. Early success and extreme excess marked The Dolls’ professional career, but when everything bottomed out, Kane shut the door on his past, converted to Mormonism, found peace and took a job in a library. Now, after years in seclusion, Kane dons leather pants and reunites with former Dolls for a London show. 6 a.m. on Sundance.

Friends with Money
Jane (Frances McDormand), Franny (Joan Cusack) and Christine (Catherine Keener) are well off and married, while their other friend, Olivia (Jennifer Aniston), cleans houses to get by and is single, but nobody is particularly happy. From his mannerisms, everyone suspects that Jane’s husband Aaron (Simon McBurney) is gay, and the suspicions become stronger after he makes a new friend, also married, also named Aaron, and also possibly gay. 8:30 a.m. on Starz.

The World According to Garp
T.S. Garp (Robin Williams) was conceived when his mother, a nurse (Glenn Close), impregnated herself with the semen of an injured soldier. She becomes a feminist leader after writing the book “Sexual Suspect.” One of her followers is transsexual and ex-Philadelphia Eagle Roberta (John Lithgow). 9:30 a.m. on HBO 2.

Cruising the Caribbean with Olivia

A depiction of the subculture of gay African-American men who maintain “straight” lives in public while leading secretive affairs with other men in private. Set in Cleveland, the four men portrayed differ in background as well as sexual preference. 9 p.m. on Logo.

This Film Is Not Yet Rated
The documentary asks whether Hollywood movies and independent films are rated equally for comparable content; whether sexual content in gay-themed movies is given harsher ratings penalties than their heterosexual counterparts; whether it makes sense that extreme violence is given an R rating while sexuality is banished to the cutting-room floor; whether Hollywood studios receive detailed directions as to how to change an NC-17 film into an R while independent film producers are left guessing; and finally, whether keeping the raters and the rating process secret leaves the MPAA entirely unaccountable for its decisions. The Virgin Suicides
Kirsten Dunst stars in this dramedy set in the 1970s in which five sisters in a repressed household commit suicide. Josh Harnett plays the high-school heartthrob who is being raised by his gay father and his partner. 11 p.m. on Women’s Entertainment.

Body of Evidence

Starring Madonna as a kinky murder suspect who seduces her defense attorney, Willem Dafoe. With Joe Mantegna, Anne Archer, Julianne Moore, Rebecca Carlson and Frank Langella as Madonna’s bisexual ex-husband. 2 a.m. on Showtime.

The Execution of Wanda Jean
The last three months of Wanda Jean Allen’s life are chronicled in this documentary. Convicted of killing her lesbian lover, she was the first black woman to be executed in the U.S. since 1954. 1 p.m. on Arts & Entertainment.

Southern Comfort
This documentary looks at the relationship of Robert, a female-to-male transsexual, and Lola, a male-to-female transsexual. This compassionate film looks at their romance and their dealing with Robert’s ovarian cancer. 1 p.m. on Logo.

Bullets over Broadway
One of Woody Allen’s best stars John Cusack as a mediocre playwright trying to get his work performed. Chazz Palminteri plays a hitman who is guarding his boss’ girlfriend (Jennifer Tilly) and he’s a frustrated playwright. With Dianne Wiest, Jim Broadbent, Tracey Ullman and Harvey Fierstein as a gay agent. 2 p.m. on Independent Film Channel.

In this repeat, Brian’s gay cousin Jasper wants to marry his partner in the Griffin home. But the mayor bans gay marriage as a diversion from his impeachment campaign, causing Brian to become an activist for the cause. 8:30 p.m. on Fox.

The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman
