As You Like It
Kenneth Branagh sets the Shakespearean classic in 19th-century Japan. The play tells the tale of Rosalind (Bryce Dallas Howard), daughter of a banished duke, who is forced to flee the court and enter the Forest of Arden when her uncle threatens to have her killed. Accompanied by her cousin Celia, Rosalind disguises herself as a man for safety’s sake. The disguise comes in handy when Rosalind tests the devotion of her noble admirer Orlando (David Oyelowo), another exile, and teaches him lessons of the heart. 8 p.m. on HBO 2.

This episode looks at a series of hate crimes that took place in Sacramento, Calif. They started with the torching of three synagogues and an abortion clinic and then the murder of a gay couple in their rural trailer. The anarchic history of punk rock has been chronicled in countless documentaries, yet few are as astounding and touching as Greg Whiteley’s profile of Arthur “Killer” Kane, former bassist for the proto-punk/glam band New York Dolls. Early success and extreme excess marked The Dolls’ professional career, but when everything bottomed out, Kane shut the door on his past, converted to Mormonism, found peace and took a job in a library. Now, after years in seclusion, Kane dons leather pants and reunites with former Dolls for a London show. 4:45 a.m. on Showtime Too.

Billie Jean King: Portrait of a Pioneer
This documentary explores the personal and professional life of the landmark athlete and activist, whose remarkable career on the tennis court was equaled only by her impact on the struggle for women’s equality during the 1970s. 6 a.m. on HBO 2.

Several years have gone by and the residents of 28 Barbary Lane have developed new relationships and careers. Michael, single and searching for love, works at a nursery garden with his friend Ned, who takes Michael to Hollywood to spend time with a former lover and famous Hollywood actor. Mother Mucca makes a visit to Mrs. Madrigal and Prue, a society columnist, encounters Luke, a mysterious and handsome man living in a park, while searching for her lost dog. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Waiting to Exhale

Normal Adolescent Behavior
A darkly comic look at precocious teens grappling with sex, excess and alienation. Avoiding the high-school party scene and random hookups, Wendy and her friends form a clique that claims a more fluid sexuality. 9 p.m. on Lifetime.

Bisexual Girls
“Bisexual Girls” introduces us to five very different British women and the important men and women in their lives. Although Debbie is in love with her boyfriend Orville, she describes herself as “bi-curious” and decides to act on her increasingly strong attraction towards women. Lesbian couple Angela and Ellie empathize with Debbie’s situation and help introduce her to the London gay scene. Linzi, a table dancer, admits that her profession has led her to same-sex desires while Beth, a bisexual, feels increased pressure to prove herself to lesbians who feel she is just “experimenting.” 9 p.m. on Logo.

A Dirty Shame
In a quaint suburb of Baltimore, a concussion transforms Sylvia Stickles (Tracy Ullman) from an upstanding housewife, mother of a nymphomaniac daughter (Selma Blair) and convenience-store owner into a night-crawling sexual compulsive. When her husband (Chris Isaak) can no longer meet her demands, Sylvia ventures out into a bizarre world of like-minded people led by mystical cult leader Ray-Ray (Johnny Knoxville), determined to unlock the secrets of the universe. Directed by John Waters, the film presents his infamously outrageous and depraved humor in this tale of sexual liberation. 10:30 p.m. on Logo.

Bob and Rose
Bob and Rose meet hailing cabs after being stranded in a remote part of Manchester. Later, despite the fact that she already has a boyfriend, Rose tracks Bob down and engineers an accidental encounter. Rose freaks out when she discovers that her new friend, Bob, is gay. 6 a.m. on Logo.

Party Line with the Hearty Boys

Girl, Positive
Seventeen-year-old Rachel (Andrea Bowen, “Desperate Housewives”) is as stunned as anyone when word spreads through her upper-middle-class community that Jason, a popular athlete who recently died, was an IV-drug user. But it’s the next bomb that really hits home: Jason, a former intimate partner, may have been HIV-positive. Wanting to learn more about HIV, Rachel is urged to visit the local AIDS clinic by a substitute teacher, Sarah (Jenny Garth), but is too scared to face up to the possibility that she may be infected. So Rachel confides her fears to Sarah, who reveals that she has been secretly living with HIV for more than seven years. Chutney Popcorn
