Audrey Claire
The cuisine at Audrey Claire matches the decor: classic seafood, meats, and pasta with singular flourishes. Start with a pear and gorgonzola flatbread- visually plain, but pleasantly savory combination of sweet, sharp and rich. Mussels- in a light spicy garlic and plum tomato broth- are fit for two. Or try the warm goat cheese salad with baby arugula, fresh figs and French lentils. Hearty entrees include grilled chicken with tangy, sweet pomegranate molasses, tender rack of lamb, or fresh pappardelle pasta with garlic roasted Portobello mushrooms, sauteed arugula and shaved locatelli. Grilled octopus w/extra-virgin olive oil over greens, seared ahi tuna, veal Milanese and inventive specials round out the menu. For dessert, order the award-winning "Bubbie's" apple cake, from Audrey's mother's recipe, or any of the other homemade selections.

"... it's not just the view, it's the interaction-diners scoping out the street life, neighbors leaning in to gossip. Audrey Claire provides, in the heart of the city, a touch of small-town intimacy- the corner bistro as urban porch... what works wonders at Audrey Claire is the restaurant's endearing blend of chic, simply delicious Mediterranean food and- most magical of all-friendliness"

-Inquirer Magazine, Dining Out

"In Audrey Claire, Taichman set out to create the kind of 'neighborhood joint' that she herself would patronize: 'It's simple, and not intimidating in the least bit. Hearty, good food. Nice Staff."

-Philadelphia Magazine

"One quirk of the Philadelphia dining scene is the ubiquity of the bring-your-own bottle restaurant. One of the most popular Audrey Claire, a deceptively unassuming cash-only spot on the corner of South 20th and Spruce. Start with the PEI mussels in a spicy plum tomato broth. For a main course, try the delicate feta-and garlic- encrusted rack of lamb"
