There are three cases right now in which the Obama administration has to defend laws that it has vocalized opposition to: two cases challenging the Defense of Marriage Act and a case challenging the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military ban on openly gay servicemembers.

Last week, the jury in the Boy Scouts case challenging the city of Philadelphia’s effort to evict them from a city-owned building handed down a mixed verdict, with the city prevailing on two points, the Cradle of Liberty Council on one.

Perhaps this column should have come out before the Pride parade and festival, but sometimes it’s hard to be reflective while tackling PGN’s biggest issue of the year, both in size and importance.
