Description:

Rabbi Yael Levy will lead a Mystical Seder to mark the holiday of Tu B’Shvat on Friday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Mishkan Shalom, 4101 Freeland Ave., in Roxborough. The seder will kick off a weekend of three events celebrating the Jewish holiday that also will include a Mindfulness Shabbat morning service, lunch provided by A Way In Jewish Mindfulness program, and a walk in Wissahickon Park.

The seder - which will include meditation, music and the ritual eating of fruits and nuts and the drinking of wine or grape juice - was first developed by the Kabbalists of the 16th century as a different way to mark the day set aside to celebrate the trees.

The seder is free and donations are appreciated before or after Shabbat. Pre-registration is necessary. Please call the Mishkan Shalom office at 215.508.0226 x0 or email office@mishkan.org. Details are also available on the Mishkan website, www.mishkan.org.
