Past, present, and future collide in an acrobatic drama of swinging trapezes and suspended fabric. Tangle's aerial acrobats explore our fantasies and fears of time in Timelines, a dynamic new show premiering April 3-5 in Philadelphia's Old City. Timelines is a queer circus-theater fantasy of time travel, evolution, aging and healing, the inner workings of a clock, and more.

A dancer swings on the pendulum of a giant clock as it ticks down moments. An acrobat echoes life evolving on earth millennia ago, via body contortion and aerial rope. Two vaudevillians can't quite resolve their comic timing on the trapeze. And a daydreaming secretary in a 1950s office escapes to a radical future in which people connect in profoundly different ways. Tangle's circus-theater presents a highly kinetic meditation on female bodies in time. Part of the 2014 Philly Queer Media Activism Series!

Tangle Movement Arts melds traditional circus arts like trapeze with dance, theater, and spoken word, founded in Philadelphia in 2011. Tangle's work reflects individuals of diverse identities, with an emphasis on queer and female experience, and is devised collaboratively by its all-female ensemble.
