| Greetings West Philly families! If you are seeking quality, creative, nurturing childcare, look no further! I have a small scale home daycare in West Philly where I care for a small group of children including my daughter who is 27 months. In addition to my daughter I care for 2 or 3 other children (depending on their ages). I accept children from 3 months to 5 years. I care for the kids from 8:30 to 5:30 and we have a quiet time from 1:30-3:30. Infants eat and sleep on demand of course! I call my place the Playhouse because we have a big playroom with lots of toys and art supplies, a nice front patio with a sandbox and container garden, and a water/sensory play table, outdoor toys and easel in the back. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the notion that kids learn best when they are in a nurturing and supportive environment. I really strive to make kids feel at home. The curriculum is centered on the interests of the children and I use a play based approach. I try to spend a lot of time with the kids outdoors year round. We live near Malcom X Park and Barkan Park and it's not too far from Cedar Park. We also take weekly outings to the library. I have over 15 years of experience in the field of childcare. I have worked as a nanny, after-school program teacher, preschool teacher, and children's garden volunteer. I recently received my AAS in Early Childhood Education. I currently have part time openings available and will have a full time opening in June.
