more info:
A delightfully spacious 4-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom property in the heart of the Gladstone Manor section of Lansdowne, Pa.  Per the 2010 census,  Lansdowne has the second highest percentage of same sex couples in all the cities of PA --behind New Hope. 15 minutes  by train to Univ of Penn, Drexel and Center City, 30 minutes to Temple via the Media/Elwyn Regional rail line  -- the station is a 2-minute walk from the home. Neighbors are many professors and doctors working for Penn, Drexel/Hahnemann and Temple.

Gladstone Manor was built in 1920 to mimic an English village with english style lamps, winding roads and tudor homes.  It's a large cul-de-sac so there is no through traffic. Strong community organization.

Walking through the front door you are greeted by a cozy sun room with windows on 3 sides. The living room has a gas fireplace w/stone facade, wooden mantle & flush brick hearth. The generously sized dining room adjacent to the living room is awash in sunlight & provides a warm atmosphere for gatherings. The recently updated kitchen features neutral tones. A breakfast nook opens to a garden and deck area just perfect
for entertaining.   The second level has a master bedroom with a doorway leading to a second floor balcony with a glorious view of sky & foliage, and two other bedroom. The third floor has a huge bedroom (perfect for a studio) and another bath, plus a large walk-in closet w/additional attic storage.. The recently finished basement has a common area, two enclosed rooms and a half bath.

The home faces the center "island" of Gladstone Manor (a small public green space) which has many colorful flowers, trees and a patio which is the place that the neighborhood gathers during the year for get togethers (i.e. on Easter, July 4th and Christmas). Community members maintain flowers beds and plantings throughout the area. At Christmas time, neighbors from the Philadelphia orchestra serenade each block with a horn ensemble on the second saturday of December playing Christmas carols while other neighbors follow them around and sing along. At the entrance to Gladstone Manor stands a 50 foot spruce tree that is decorated and lit with Christmas lights at the Holidays. Santa visits the tree lighting ceremony and talks to all the children. There's also a mailbox expressly for children to drop their letters to Santa located on the main island and every letter gets answered by Santa himself. On Easter there's an Easter egg hunt for kids to enjoy and July 4th brings the largest gathering for the neighbors to catch up and kids to play. There's lots of edible goodies and barbecue food for everyone. Great community pride. It's a very quiet, really friendly and safe place to live.
