This year, the center will feature 11 different life-enrichment classes, with some starting as early as March 14. Costs vary, with discounts for center members.
Individuals looking to learn a new language can take Introduction to American Sign Language, 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursdays from March 14-May 2, taught by Michael Flynn, an interpreter for the center, Dignity Philadelphia and Beth Ahavah.
IPhones are all the rage in technology, and you can learn how to navigate the sometimes-tricky devices in Mastering the iPhone, taught by IT instructor and consultant Nina Epstein, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. March 30 and April 13.
Technology will also be the focus of Get Published! Amazon Kindle 101, taught by former center executive director Claire Baker. The course will cover the ins and out of the electronic-publishing industry from 6:30-8 p.m. April 9, 16 and 23.
Want to saddle up your cowboy boots? The center will offer a beginner’s line-dance course, led by Woody’s line-dance instructor Michael Flynn from 7-9 p.m. Mondays from March 18-May 6.
Did you enjoy William Way’s first wellness festival last month? Continue your path to wellness at Homorobics, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays from May 1-June 5, taught by professional dancer Craig Scull.
Mental wellness is just as important as physical, which is why the center is offering courses on anger management and stress relief, 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 20 and 27 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 10 and 17, respectively.
If you’re looking to de-stress from balancing all of your personal and professional commitments, instructor Susan Lonker will lead Time After Time: Task & Time Management Skills from 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 24 and May 1.
There are also a number of classes that are one-session events.
In Learning the Basics of Eating Gluten-Free, students can learn healthy eating and cooking tips — and partake in samples — from 6:30-8 p.m., taught by Baker.
Join Doug Hilton from 6-9 p.m. April 10 as he teaches single GBT men how to navigate the dating scene in Finding Mr. Right.
Creating A Relationship That Lasts: MBTI Roadmap to Successful Relationships is geared for both couples and singles. Taught by C. Terrill Thompson and Ellen Greenberg, the class is based on the Myers Brigg Type Indicator to explore approaches to dating, love, sex and relationships. The class will be held 2-6 p.m. March 23.
